Description
The Cometic cylinder head gasket is an excellent upgrade for Mazda MX-5s with 1.6 B6 engines. The multi-layer steel gasket provides excellent sealing for the BP’s aluminium head and cast iron block, withstanding the shearing forces of the two different materials. Made from multiple layers of stainless steel, the Cometic cylinder head gasket resists corrosion. The outer layers are embossed and coated with Viton—a flouroelastomer material—which is designed to endure harsh sealing environments. The center layer is uncoated stainless steel, and can be varied to provide the thickness required.
